Is the Biodance Bio-Collagen Mask Worth It? Dermatologist Explains
So, I recently tried the viral Biodance Bio-Collagen Mask because EVERYONE seems to be using it.
And this is my completely unsponsored review. Just an honest take as a dermatologist.
First things first, this mask is optional. Very VERY optional.

What it does and doesn’t?
The collagen in this mask is doing a lot of marketing. But there is very little evidence that topical collagen can have any meaningful anti-aging effects.
The real MVPs of the mask are hyaluronic acid, betaine and allantoin. Hydration, loads and loads of hydration.
The prolonged wear time also creates an occlusive effect = more moisture retention.
How much time does it taken to dry down?
So, it took forever to dry down, and I wish someone had told me this before hand. Because you have to plan your entire afternoon/evening around it. I’m talk 4-5 hours.
You can also use it overnight but that’s gonna get too messy.
The skin feel test
TBH, it really did make my skin excessively soft and plump for a few hours. I really wasn’t expecting this to happen, but it almost made my skin feel like how it does after a session of skin boosters (at least for a few hours).
BUT the hydration didn’t last for more than 12 hours. Well, isn’t that what you’d expect from any other sheet mask too?
So, is it worth buying?
Umm…If you have an event coming up, want extra hydration beyond a regular sheet mask, and money isn’t an issue, go for it.
Otherwise, it’s essentially a glorified sheet mask.
Also, don’t expect any long-term benefits. Save your money if you’re expecting collagen regeneration or lasting skin benefits.
My verdict
It’s a nice-to-have thingy, not a must-have.
