My Indian Pharmacy Restocks: Skincare I Keep Going Back To
Ever since I moved to the UAE, I’m loving the skincare scene. But some Indian pharmacy products will always make their way into my suitcase.
Here are some products from my latest Indian pharmacy restock. Products that I have been using, reusing and buying again and again!
My official substitute for a skin tint now! Protects against UVA, UVB, infrared radiation, blue light, and visible light, and spreads like a dream. So, so, so lightweight.
Vitamin C is one of my favourite ingredients for morning skincare under SPF.
It acts as an antioxidant and helps address uneven skin tone and signs of photoageing.
Sesderma uses liposomal technology in this serum. Liposomes are delivery systems designed to help transport ingredients through the skin.
Contains the best of both worlds:
Ketoconazole 2%, an antifungal agent used to manage dandruff associated with Malassezia yeast.
Salicylic acid 2%, a keratolytic ingredient that helps loosen and remove scalp scales and keep oily scalp clean.
A godsend for oily scalp and post-workout scalp care.
Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid that helps unclog pores and exfoliate the skin. It is useful for comedonal acne, including blackheads and whiteheads.
I use it under my mask to prevent maskne!
I’ve repurchased Moisturex Hydra so many times that I’ve lost the count now! I just want a straightforward moisturiser in my routine. It moisturises without triggering any pimples.
6. Morr F Aqua
I’ve been using Morr F Aqua for six months.
My current hair loss is telogen effluvium associated with iron and vitamin D deficiencies. I’ve been addressing these deficiencies alongside my hair treatment.
Contains:
* Minoxidil 5%, which supports hair growth.
* Finasteride 0.1%, which reduces DHT activity.
* Redensyl and Procapil, additional ingredients marketed for hair growth.
Minoxidil has established evidence for androgenetic alopecia. Finasteride also targets androgenetic hair loss. Evidence for Redensyl and Procapil is considerably more limited.
Morr F Aqua is a prescription-strength combination, not an ordinary cosmetic hair serum. So, discuss with your treating dermatologist to assess the need and ensure you are the right candidate for it.
7. Tretinoin 0.025%
I use tretinoin for acne and its long-term benefits in photoageing. TBH, nothing has helped my skin more than tretinoin! But it is a prescription-strength treatment and has side effects like dryness, peeling, and irritation, especially during the initial weeks, plus a few contraindications.
Discuss with your treating derm.
I also use Keraglo Eva as part of my hair care regimen.
Since my telogen effluvium is associated with iron and vitamin D deficiencies, apart from dedicated supplements for deficiencies, being on this nutritional supplement is also my helping my hair growth.
Our busy lifestyle often jeopardises our diet, so taking a supplement makes so much more sense in today’s world! Usually, I advise patients to take such supplements for 3 months, and then take a gap of 3 more months before restarting the supplements.
