As a dermatologist, I know first hand that resolving hair loss requires science, not magic oils. Here is the exact, step-by-step routine I used to reduce my own hair fall and significantly improve hair growth.

1. Start with Blood Tests
This is the most important first step. Because your hair is dead on the outside, chronic hair loss almost always originates from the inside.
In my case, testing revealed a vitamin D deficiency. I began weekly vitamin D supplementation, and within three months, I saw noticeable improvement.
What to test: If you have experienced ongoing hair fall for over three months, check your Iron, Ferritin, B12, Vitamin D, and Thyroid function.
2. Take a Targeted Daily Multivitamin
I personally take Tab Keraglo Eva, but your supplement choice should be tailored to your specific diet, allergies, and medical needs. Always consult your dermatologist before starting a new supplement.
The Biotin Myth: Taking Biotin alone is useless. Do not waste your money unless blood work shows an actual deficiency, which is extremely rare.
3. Use Topical Minoxidil
I applied 5% Minoxidil every night, consistently, for six months. To maximize the effects, I chose a formulation that also contained Redensyl, Capixyl, and Procapil.
Warning: Minoxidil is not for everyone. It can cause headaches or scalp irritation, is strictly contraindicated during pregnancy, and is highly toxic to pets. Always start under a doctor's guidance.
4. Switch to Ketoconazole Shampoo
I used a Ketoconazole shampoo twice a week. This effectively cleared my dandruff and acted as a mild DHT (dihydrotestosterone) blocker, both of which are crucial for hair retention and regrowth.
5. Incorporate Bond Repair Products
Because I frequently color and style my hair, I needed to actively strengthen the hair shafts to prevent breakage. My go-to products included:
K18: For internal bond repair and root strength.
Olaplex No. 3: Used once a week as a strengthening treatment.
6. Invest in PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy
I completed three sessions of PRP. This treatment uses your own blood platelets to stimulate hair follicles, significantly improving both growth and thickness.
Alternatives: If your platelet levels are naturally low or you have a fear of needles,
microneedling or mesotherapy are excellent alternative options.
7. Maintain Results with a Hair Loss Serum
After stopping Minoxidil, you need a maintenance plan to keep your new hair. I transitioned to a dedicated peptide serum to maintain my results:
There is no 10-step miracle routine and no magic hair oil. Real results come from the right testing, consistent medical treatment, and realistic expectations. If you are going through a shedding phase, stay consistent- things do get better.

Hair loss has many underlying causes, and treatment must be personalized after proper evaluation. Please see a doctor immediately if your hair fall is sudden, severe, patchy, associated with itching/flaking, or if you notice visible bald spots and thinning.
